Ana C. Busquets, MD, FAAD† is a Board Certified Dermatologist and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She joins Acqua Blu Medical Spa & Plastic Surgery Center with areas of interest and expertise in skin cancer screening and treatment, mole evaluation, removal of benign skin lesions, adult and adolescent acne, rosacea, chronic skin conditions (psoriasis and eczema), hair and nail disorders, skin infections, and allergic and immune skin diseases. Other treatments include cosmetic procedures such as BOTOX therapy, laser treatments and dermal fillers.

She graduated with honors from Harvard University, where she received the Harvard College Scholarship for Academic Distinction Award, is a member of the Harvard and Radcliffe Dean's List, as well as a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Society. Dr. Busquets† has also been honored with the Elizabeth Cary Agassiz Award for academic excellence.

After graduating from Northwestern University Medical School, Dr. Busquets† completed her medical internship at University Hospitals of Cleveland/Case Western Reserve. She continued her post graduate training at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in Dermatology where she served as Chief Resident. Most recently, Dr. Busquets† served as a senior instructor in Dermatology at Case Western Reserve University Metro Health Hospital. In this capacity, she oversaw the dermatology residency clinics as well as the in-patient consults.

Her professional society memberships include the Cleveland Dermatological Society, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and the American Academy of Dermatology.

Dr. Busquets† research interests included evaluation of hair loss, laser therapy for aging skin and treatment options for scars. She has numerous published studies and book chapters which have been presented at academic meetings.

Dr. Busquets† has recently moved from Cleveland and resides with her husband, Sam Akhavan, MD, an orthopedic surgeon at Western Pennsylvania Hospital. Her outside interests include swimming, reading and traveling. She is fully conversant in Spanish.
